It’s nothing significant.
Line of Defense is a game that regularly makes its way into MMO Fallout’s list of titles that are probably never seeing release and you’d be forgiven for having assumed that this game much like Alganon had been quietly taken out back and shot years ago. Shockingly though and despite there being nearly complete radio silence for two years now, development is still plodding along albeit slowly with a small team.
For the past couple of years the team has been at work porting the game to Unreal after the cancellation of the console Havok engine and end of support for the PC version. A news post published today mentions that the system requirements are being updated.
You can find the piece on the official website. For posterity we have posted the announcement here.
As work continues on the massive engine port, the game’s system requirements have been updated accordingly.
Those with CBT access to the DSS build will stop receiving updates as those have now been disabled for the legacy (Havok engine based) build which was branched off several months ago.
Further, in order to test the on-going implementation of updated game assets (world scenery, levels, models etc), there will be a DSS update which can be run on a private local or remote server. This will allow the ability to navigate the game’s 13 scenes (planetary, space, station) scenes unhindered by interrupted game play from other clients.
More news coming soon!
